GroupTreatment for SM
What does treatment look like?
Group SM Treatment:

Our SM group treatment model uses the same principles used for Mighty Mouth Kids Camp - OKC over the course of 8 weeks. Each session is held on Monday evenings from 4-6pm and includes a parent and kids group. Parents will gain skills associated with PCIT-SM which includes learning how to utilize positive reinforcement (e.g., labeled praises, reflection, behavioral descriptions, and enthusiasm) to target desired behaviors (i.e., verbalizations). The behavioral principles of PCIT-SM are also intended to address and interrupt the cycle of avoidant behaviors, which is currently maintained by negative reinforcement (e.g., rescuing). The goal of group treatment is to create a positive cycle of talking to peers and adults in group settings and during various activities.

Group typically runs twice a year - fall and spring.
